How would I make this type of jewelry?

I would love to make something like this:

You need to find a cabochon solid-back setting, or photo frame pendant like those in the links below. Most of these have a texture or incising to the give glue more adhesion. You should be able to find something like this at a local hobby store that carries jewelry findings. The larger the frame the more detailed the art could be.

You could fill in any roughness by using an enamel base paint, allow it to thoroughly dry, then paint over that. Since there is no room for error you would need to be pretty skilled. Or, you could use a computer program such as Photoshop, or the free Paint.NET (use download in upper right corner) or GIMP programs to create your art. Reduce it down to the proper size and print it, then glue it into the setting. Use some clear acrylic spray to protect the artwork from moisture.
